| Assignment Description: | As an international school, students at Grace Christian Academy are required by the government to have passports from outside of Taiwan. During the 2020-2021 school year, there were nine children in first grade, from seven different countries. The first-grade group is larger for the 2022-2023 school year; therefore, they have moved into a larger classroom that can accommodate 20 children. There are currently 12 first-grade students enrolled, with decisions pending for another six children. The curriculum is from the US with the exception of a daily one-hour Mandarin class. Textbooks are from ABeka Book Publishers, Bob Jones Press, MCP, Scott Foresman, Harcourt School Publishers, and Wordly Wise. A second teacher is in the classroom for parts of the day and teaches the daily math class. We have a traditional classroom style with specials teachers for music, P.E., and art. All teaching is conducted in English with no translation available, except for the Mandarin class. |

| Housing: | Grace Christian Academy provides rent-free housing for teachers who are hired from outside of Taiwan. Such housing is off campus but located within a 20-minute walk or short bike ride from the school. Single teachers are placed in 3–4-bedroom apartments with 2 bathrooms. Family housing is not shared. However, if one spouse is working for a company that provides housing, this benefit is not available. |
| Educating Children: | Grace Christian Academy provides tuition-free education at GCA for the teacher’s children who are currently in grades 1-12. There are no extraordinary fees for our students, including textbooks, building maintenance, development, music, or other fees often hidden within the fee structures at other schools. However, students in grade 12 must cover the graduation fee. GCA does not cover the educational fees at any other institution, including kindergarten, daycare, language studies, or extracurricular activities. |
