Serve Him with All Our Being

The Talent GivenIn Ephesians we read that salvation is a free gift from God. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s favor. So why should we serve God? Why should we give generously of our time and other resources? Because the next verse says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He planed for us long ago.” [Eph 2:10 NLT]

Christ-followers are new creations—designed to serve God with our talents. We are created to do the good works he has planned for us. Our time, our energy and all we have are His. God has planned things for everyone of us. This may be to encourage a friend or serve refugees, to provide vocational training or discipleship for nationals in their nation, or to serve the church. God doesn’t need our help. He can do anything. But since He created us and planned for us to serve, let’s serve Him generously with all our being. One way to discover how you can use your talents is to sign up or sign in at missionnext.org. See you there.
