| Assignment Description: | Mission: The teacher is the primary instructor and caregiver to the students during the school day. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians. General Position Overview: A Secondary IT teacher will provide high-quality technology instruction within a Christian environment, using an English-language, US-based curriculum taught from a biblical perspective. High School Instruction (Grades 9-12): Design and teach a curriculum for an "Introduction to Coding" course, with a primary focus on the Python programming language. Prepare and deliver instruction for Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A course using Java, (possible expansion, AP Computer Science Principles and AP Cyber Security), adhering to the College Board's curriculum framework. Develop and teach a cybersecurity course that engages students in foundational and applied topics such as network security, safeguarding personal information, risk assessment and compliance frameworks, digital forensics, and strategies for online safety. Middle School Instruction (Grades 6-8): Develop and teach a year-long IT curriculum for middle school students, with classes meeting once per week. Introduce foundational concepts such as digital citizenship, internet safety, hardware/software basics, and effective use of productivity suites (e.g., Google Workspace). Introduce basic programming logic through visual block-based coding (e.g., Scratch, Code.org) or other introductory platforms. Age Group & Class Size: Class sizes at CISP range between 10-16 students. Instruction may be given to students in grades 6-12 (approximately ages 11-19). |
