| Assignment Description: | VISION FOR POSITION The Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction is a deliberate coach and effective manager responsible for helping teachers and students realize their full potential. The APCI provides high-quality coaching and feedback to teachers to help develop their skills. The APCI ensures that teachers design and execute an instructional program that develops mastery and skills in line with grade-level expectations and meets the individual needs of each student. The APCI works collaboratively with the school leadership team to develop a school-wide culture that advances the CISP mission grounded in shared goals, mutual respect, empathy towards others, and an appreciation of diversity. The APCI is a next-generation educator who is a critical thinker and innovative problem solver with high emotional intelligence. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction is an instructional and strategic leader responsible for assisting teachers in providing students with an education from a biblical perspective that is academically excellent and practically oriented within a loving community. The essential functions of Assistant Principals of Curriculum and Instruction are as follows: Responsible for directing and collaborating with department heads Responsible for overview of curriculum maps, lesson plans, and weekly tracking of grades Designing and delivering Professional Development to Staff Advising teachers on all things academic related Directing and facilitating the 3 Phase Teacher Development process of teacher observation and evaluation Serving as MAP testing coordinator Coordinating with Accreditation Head as necessary Assisting the Principal as necessary Serving as substitute teacher for all grade levels |
