| Assignment Description: | Mission: To direct and coordinate a full range of athletic programs and services for all sports approved by the CISP administration. Maintain and supervise an athletic program that represents the school community and Christ at all times. The athletic coordinator will promote the school’s mission to both internal constituencies and the community at large. Position Requirement: Part-Time or Full-Time (depending on teaching physical education) Reports To: Principal or Director Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteer Coaches and Personnel Employee Profile: Spiritually, the employee shall possess characteristics that reflect: An understanding and support of the vision, mission, and philosophy of CISP; A clear testimony as a follower of Jesus Christ; A mature, godly spirit; A person of faith and prayer. Personally, the employee’s life shall reflect: A lifestyle of biblical integrity; A spirit of dedication, commitment, flexibility, responsiveness, and compassion; A spirit of even temper and forgiveness, as well as asking for forgiveness when needed; The ability to listen and respond to authority and wise counsel. Duties and Responsibilities: Willingness to be a component of the human resource team to interview, research, and appoint all coaches, assistants, and volunteers. Provide orientation, direction, ongoing training, and supervision of all personnel within the athletic program. First line of intervention with coaches, student-athletes, parents of athletes, and spectators. Encourages and instructs athletes, students, and fans in proper sportsmanship. Develops and maintains a viable, competitive, disciplined athletic program within the structure of the CISP mission and vision. Represents the school and its interests at area coaches/director meetings when needed. Establishes and/or approves the schedule of all games and opponents, and all scheduled practices and locations of each. Oversight of the athletic budget, approving expenditures for all athletic-related expenses. Communicate with the main office, administration, parents, staff, and students at all CISP athletics events. Communicate with the Communications Manager all events that need to be placed on the school calendar and website. Also, communicate any schedule or event changes to the Communication Manager. Schedule and manage any travel associated with the athletic programs. Maintain an accurate, up-to-date file of student records, including physical examinations, medical concerns, rosters, eligibility forms, and other necessary paperwork. Oversee the production, content, and enforcement of the athletic handbook, athletic paperwork, and other publications. Manage all athletic gear and athletic facilities. Serve as the spokesperson and promoter of CISP athletics. Member of the Academic Advisory Team. Qualifications/skills: Bachelor's Degree; Minimum of 2 years in youth coaching/sports field; The ability to meet deadlines; Strong organizational skills; Ability to work and cooperate with other staff members, parents and students; Must possess administrative skills and possess and convey leadership qualities; Self-motivated |
