The Role of the Faithful Intercessor

One of the ways that we care and show our love for others is through prayer.  There are many models of intercessory prayer in Scripture – prayers for Paul and for Moses.

When we pray for others…

  • We bring glory to God.
  • We reflect the way Jesus prays for us.
  • We reflect God’s kindness.
  • We draw nearer to God.

So let us lift one another up in prayer to our Father in Heaven!

“You also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.” –  2 Corinthians 1:11

“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” –  Colossians 4:3-4

“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.” – Ephesians 6:18

“They all joined together constantly in prayer…” – Acts 1:14a
