These children will be able to influence their country in the name Christ, and / or help transform Cambodia in a culturally relevant way. Duties / Responsibilities: In addition to the duties outlined below, the Director of Education will maintain her testimony for Christ both within and without the school and pray for the school communities. The DOE will attend regular Leadership Team meetings. The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: School Development: Work with the CEO of Asian Hope and the Board of Directors in setting goals and bringing long-term developmental change, providing an educational perspective where needed Monitor and evaluate each school in light of the developmental goals and plans Oversee each school’s long term development plans in line with AH vision / goals and in relation to all AH schools (including long term budgeting) Support each schools’ accreditation processes Support the Principals in developing administrative procedures and regulations and programs that will implement the directives of the governing Board of Directors. Support each school’s development through providing professional training for teachers and Principals Support the recruitment process Extend and enhance curriculum development through training and advice Oversee the orientation process for teachers across the schools Mentoring School Leaders: Provide regular mentoring meetings with leaders for support, direction, accountability and encouragement Performance Manage leaders through setting and reviewing goals for the year linked to the school’s development plan In partnership develop and monitor the school development plan Support leaders in successful accreditation processes Support for other educational programs: Support the Director of VDP through teacher training and educational advice as necessary Support the Leader of the Teacher Training Program through professional development as necessary Advise Trinity Institute on educational matters and serve on their board as the Asian Hope representative |

The Head of School, as the Chief Executive Officer of MCS, reports to the School Board and is accountable to implement the mission of the school as defined in the Board policies. The Head of School is the “face” of MCS, representing the school to the Indonesian government, to the local Indonesian community, to the school staff, to students, and to their families. Assignment Description: Since 1981, Mountainview Christian School (MCS) has been supporting Christian sending agencies by serving students from Christian service worker families. MCS also serves students from business families and students learning English as a second language as possible according to school board policies. The school is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The language of instruction is English and the curriculum is based on American academic state standards and meets the accreditation standards set out by ACSI and WASC. Opportunities exist for staff to maintain teaching credentials while in service. The Head of School supervises expatriate and national teaching and support staff in a school of approximately 220 students in grades K-12. The current staff numbers 35 teachers and 65 Indonesian support staff. The Head of School directly supervises the Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal, Director of Administration, Management Advisor, Dormitory Administrator, and Facilities Director. Like all positions at MCS, the Head of School position is a Christian service assignment. The Head of School will be expected to be at least partially supported by a recognized sending agency and to be seconded to MCS. The Head of School is expected to make a commitment of at least five years, including furloughs in accordance with his/her sending agency's policies.
