| Job Comment: | Our students are predominantly ELL learners and many enter our school with a low level of English. Prospective candidates should have experience and/or formal training for teaching ELL learners. Training includes university modules, CELTA, DELTA and TESOL certificates. The successful candidate will teach Chemistry to High School students. High School students have 3 lessons a week for Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Our High School students take separate IGCSE exams for three sciences. |

| Job Advertisement: | Role Overview – Chemistry Teacher Position We seek an experienced Chemistry teacher to deliver high-quality instruction to High School students within our UK curriculum framework. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, possesses strong pedagogical knowledge, and is skilled in modern, student-centered teaching methods. IGCSE/A-level experience is preferred. Key Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science discipline • Experience teaching ELL learners or formal training (CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or equivalent) • Ability to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students with varying English proficiency • Commitment to lab safety, maintenance, and resource management • Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to departmental development Teaching Load • IGCSE Chemistry: 3 lessons/week • AS Level Chemistry: 6 lessons/week • A2 Level Chemistry: 6 lessons/week • Remaining time allocated to lesson planning, marking, assessment, lab preparation/maintenance, and school activities Additional duties: weekly assembly + 1 extracurricular club/activity Facilities & Support Fully equipped Science Lab with chemicals, Bunsen burners, and apparatus for student-led experiments Strong safety culture; students trained to conduct complex procedures responsibly Teacher responsibility includes routine lab maintenance, inventory management, and ensuring safe storage of materials Experienced, collaborative department providing mentorship and professional support for new staff |
