| Assignment Description: | Students in grades 9-12 at Grace Christian Academy are required to pass at least three courses of Math and Science in order to graduate. Classes meet for 45-55 minutes per day. There are three science teachers and three math teachers covering 7 math subjects and 7 science subjects for about 50 college bound high school students. We are searching for a teacher for AP Biology and AP Physics. Only one class per day is needed for the small number of students who enroll in these classes. A full-time position can be rounded out with other subjects of interest. The AP courses typically have fewer than 5 students. In addition to 5 weekly classes, a 55 minute lab period is scheduled once a week. Classes are conducted only in English. The curriculum currently used is as follows. AP Biology-Biology The Unity and Diversity of Life, Starr Taggart Evers Starr, Twelfth ed., 2010, AP approved curriculum, labs, syllabi. Offered only after successful completion of a high school Biology course, available to students in grades 10-12 who are considering advanced Biology as a part of their university and career goals. Most students successfully complete the AP Biology exam. AP Physics-Physics for Scientists and Engineers, Serway Jewett, Tenth ed., 2014, AP approved curriculum, labs, syllabi. Previously, this class was offered online with our teacher serving as reference and test proctor. We want to provide AP Physics as an in-person class. The pre-requisite to this course is successful completion of a Physics course which is not typically taken until grade 11. Students who enroll are typically considering Advanced Physics as a part of their university and career goals. |

| Housing: | Grace Christian Academy provides rent-free housing for teachers who are hired from outside of Taiwan. Such housing is off campus but located within a 20-minute walk or short bike ride from the school. Single teachers are placed in 3–4-bedroom apartments with 2 bathrooms. Family housing is not shared. However, if one spouse is working for a company that provides housing, this benefit is not available. |
| Educating Children: | Grace Christian Academy provides tuition-free education at GCA for the teacher’s children who are currently in grades 1-12. There are no extraordinary fees for our students, including textbooks, building maintenance, development, music, or other fees often hidden within the fee structures at other schools. However, students in grade 12 must cover the graduation fee. GCA does not cover the educational fees at any other institution, including kindergarten, daycare, language studies, or extracurricular activities. |
