The God of the Few

Share!

God chooses the few who are willing to accomplish His purposes.

Only the few who were willing were selected to contribute to and work on the tabernacle(1) and the first temple.(2)

Moses selected 70 out of 600,000 men to lead the Israelites as they camped in the wilderness.(3) It took Gideon several attempts to reduce his army to 300 to take on the entire army of the Mideonites, thus making the odds about 100 to 1.(4) David took only the willing third of his troops to pursue the Amalekites from Ziklag. That campaign was successful.(5)

It was Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who saved the day, improving the outcomes for the nation of Israel and turning the focus on God instead of the powerful King Nebuchadnezzar.(6)

It was Peter, James and John, the somewhat reluctant disciples, branded as ordinary, uneducated men, who turned the world upside down.(7) The Apostle Paul was a one-man crew that altered the course of history with his messages in witness and writings.

In modern times, it is often the few and the bold entrepreneurs in ministry that make a difference among the nations. 1. This article has touched me. God and the Good News does not change. It is useful to think boldly in these unusual times.
