Job CommentA Global Gates Associate is a committed volunteer with Global Gates who is not an employee but may raise ministry funds. Associates do not need income from Global Gates (e.g., retired individuals) and/or have other roles in life that demand most of their time (professionals, students, stay-at-home spouses, etc.). Global Gates works with Associates to converge their calling and abilities with the current ministry needs of Global Gates teams, gateway hub cities, or administration. Areas of focus could include evangelism, teaching English, community development, prayer, discipleship, fundraising, social media, research, website management, graphic design, volunteer coordinating, or other areas deemed strategic to lead to disciple-making and church planting.

Job CommentWe believe that at least 1% of the global body of Christ is called and gifted by God for involvement in ministry beyond their own people, requiring the crossing of boundaries. These may include ethnic, linguistic, social, cultural, national, and religious boundaries to make Christ known, call people to repentance and faith, help them grow as disciples, establish local churches, and train leaders for the churches. The Global Worker Mobilization Specialist will lead a team that seeks to steward the conditions that the Holy Spirit uses to call and send missionaries. Stewarding these conditions often include mentoring leaders of churches and denominations to develop a missional culture in the national church, teaching/preaching mission messages, providing mission conferences for churches or groups of pastors/leaders, networking and building coalitions of mission-minded entities, creating short-term mission opportunities, and organizing vision trip opportunities for leaders and/or potential missionaries. The Global Worker Mobilization Specialist will work with the national church or national ministries to design and/or provide missionary training for involvement in cross-cultural ministry. The role will assist partners around the globe to engage in God’s missionary movement and may also include helping to develop new OMS signatories. The Global Worker Mobilization Team will work closely with the other OMS ministry element teams to ensure that God’s mission to all peoples is built into the DNA of all our ministry efforts. This role is available in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Hungary, and Taiwan. In Taiwan, the ability to speak Mandarin is a requirement. Your responsibilities may include: Promote and live out OMS's mission, visions, core values, theology and principles. Work with other OMS missionaries and partners to the greatest degree possible in carrying out this work. Be available to teach and train in core areas of understanding needed for effective cross-cultural ministry. Take local leaders on vision trips to help them see the needs in other places, among other people. Model praying for the lost, nurturing through the use of the Scriptures a passionate burden for them. Help OMS-related seminaries have viable missionary training built into their curriculum. Familiarize local church leaders with other missionary movements they can observe, engaging them in related learning opportunities. Become familiar with culturally-close missionary training models and resources already available, helping local leaders connect with them and grow their understanding of them. Promote helpful, contextually appropriate missionary recruitment and care models. Implement in local churches opportunities to be challenged to consider global mission involvement. Have an understanding of movements and how to birth, nurture and multiply them. Weave the compassion of Christ into all tasks.
