| Assignment Description | Come and teach at the WASC accredited Ukarumpa International School – Primary Campus, attended by 150 children from preschool to grade 6. We have a new school, good resources, supportive parents and a committed and professional teaching staff. Suppport and teach Dutch Mother tongue students in a culturally diverse school. The children come from as many as 14 different counties. At the same time, you are supporting the eternal work of Bible Translation! http://www.ukarumpainternationalschool.org Position Responsibilities: Appropriately plans for, and carries out instruction of grade or age level, using the curriculum and/or textbook guides and a variety of materials and media. Prepares, administers and corrects tests in accordance with school standards and procedures. Develops and maintains student records of attendance and grades as required by the school. Maintains order in the classroom and on the playground. Understands and empathizes with children growing up in cross-cultural situations, and provides supportive activities and Christian counsel. Encourages awareness and understanding of cultural differences. Communicates effectively to a class comprising children from a variety of nationalities, sensitive to illustrations and figures of speech that are culturally bound. Prepares quarterly student progress reports. Discusses pupils' academic and behavioral performance with parents, recommending action when necessary. Assists in pupil extra-curricular activities, inspiring and encouraging the physical, mental and spiritual development of pupils to greatest potential. Teaches a class which combines several grades or age levels in many locations. May assist the entity in other additional areas of activity not necessarily associated with the school during school vacations, etc. |
