Assignment Descriptiona. Follow the curriculum unit notes in creating quality lesson plans or working with the vice principal of curriculum to ensure the fidelity of the PE curriculum through amended lessons. b. Teaches individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and of physical capabilities of students. c. Develops a holistic K-12 approach to developing students through the PE & Health program. d. Integrates a biblical worldview into lessons regularly. e. Provides support to the extracurricular athletics programs as needed and school scheduling allows. f. Instructs groups or individuals in beginning or advanced calisthenics, gymnastics, or corrective exercises, determining the type and level of difficulty of exercises, corrections needed, and appropriate movements. g. Applies knowledge of sports, physiology, and corrective techniques. h. Leads Grade 11 and 12 students in understanding basic elements of pedagogy and developing and delivering lessons for PE education in elementary grades. This is part of a leadership development program for our grade 11 and 12 students. i. Maintains order in the gym, locker rooms, sports court, sports fields, PE storage areas, and other related school grounds. j. Understands and empathizes with students facing the adjustments of cross-cultural situations, and provides supportive activities and mature Christian counsel. k. Assists in pupil extracurricular activities, inspiring and encouraging the physical, mental, and spiritual development of pupils to their greatest potential. l. Provides administrative oversight (checking grades, helping with curriculum development, etc.) to parent volunteers who are teaching elective courses for secondary students 4. Record Keeping a. Develops and maintains student records of attendance and grades in the student information system as required by the school. b. Complete end of the year procedures and forms including inventory list. c. Lesson plans are completed in a timely manner and made accessible to the assigned administrative supervisor. d. Document curricular changes in CurriculumTrak after they are approved by the department head and the VP of curriculum. e. Complete other paperwork as assigned or requested. 5. Collaboration a. Collaborate with other teachers on an on-ongoing basis about instruction, curriculum review, and school-wide communication. b. Serve on committees and/or supervise activities supporting the overall school program. c. Seek opportunities for curricular integration. d. Attend and participate in teachers’ meetings, department meetings, evening programs involving one’s students, and other meetings as assigned. e. Attend weekly chapel.
