Chief Development Officer (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position: Chief Development Officer

Location: USA

Purpose: Ensures the development and success of MissionNext by overseeing the financial stability, fundraising and growth of the organization.

Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Chief Development Officer will be to:

  • Develop a donor base and produce a communications and execution strategy
  • Manage the donor communications by inviting donors in MissionNext to utilize various communications tools
  • Collect and manage donor information
  • Create a donor webpage for potential donors to read quarterly updates, and find new ways to contribute to the MissionNext mobilization efforts. This also includes an End of the Year Giving summary and an Annual Report on Perspectives
  • Collect, request, and/or write alumni stories, agency submissions, announcements, or other content.
  • Work with CEO to determine development priorities
  • Proficiently utilize organization technologies (ex. ConstantContact, HubSpot, etc.)

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position 3-8 hours per week (hours are negotiable).

Chief Advancement Officer (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position: Chief Advancement Officer

Purpose: The Chief Advancement Officer will outline a prayer strategy that will identify how we will work towards covering individual needs and organization needs. Create an outlined strategy for engaging with God’s purpose and the world around us. Execute strategy through our team, our partners, our candidates and our donors. Webmaster (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Position:   Webmaster
Location:  USA
Purpose:  To provide overall web leadership, management, and support for MissionNext websites and the hosting environment.

Job Description:   

Overview: IT has become an increasingly important discipline in world missions. This is an existing, emerging, and evolving need. Make an eternal impact with this position.

Key Duties:  Provides technical expertise and support of MissionNext websites and Linux hosting environment.  Maintains website functionality and operation, makes recommendations for functional and performance improvements, and implement approved enhancements.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 5-10 hours per week ongoing. (Initial on-ramp time may be greater.)

Logistics:
There is no office space for this position; the candidate will work from home using his/her computer and high-speed internet. Day-to-day interactions will be conducted via email, telephone and video conferencing.

Worker Status:

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with management regularly to discuss current and future functionality
  • Monitor security and perform all necessary updates
  • Monitor and report all web traffic
  • Make all necessary updates to the ministry site, minimizing downtime
  • Update content to reflect current SEO trends and make or recommend adjustments to improve SEO.
  • Repair any broken links and fix any reported bugs
  • Maintain hosting environment, virtual servers, optimizing speeds, and cost tradeoff.
  • Contribute to discussions on ways to improve functionality and usability.
  • Collaborate with other teams to meet needs, improve efficiency.
  • Reply to user comments and queries in a timely fashion.
  • Manage backups, security.
  • Gather and analyze requirements for recommended improvements and enhancements.
  • Monitor the MissionNext family of WordPress websites missionnext.org home and associated Pathways:  Journey.missionnext.orgIT-Technology.missionnext.org, education.missionnext.orgshort-term.missionnext.org and future websites.
  • Familiarity with the functionality, monitoring, and support of administrative MissionNext WordPress subsites, and non-WordPress subdomains, such as api.*, ad.*, info.*, crm.*, partner.* and others as implemented is also within scope of the Webmaster.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience); master’s degree is a plus
  • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus

 

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in WordPress (WP), and WP compatible themes (such as GeneratePress, Elementor, Divi), plugins and overall website management and hosting.
  • Leadership and/or management experience is a plus
  • Strategic thinker with positive, can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple websites
  • Strong working knowledge of all relevant coding languages (PHP, CSS, Javascript, HTML)
  • Excellent communicator, especially regarding abstract concepts

  • Responsible for the MissionNext website and Pathways; responsible for managing the MissionNext web presence, ensuring that the site is user-friendly and up-to-date at all times.
  • Works within the Technology and Program Development team(s) to expand our presence through the design and implementation of new web-based functionality that will positively impact our customers’ experience.
  • Requires knowledge in server management and online security, content management and solid coding skills.

Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Director, Strategic Partnerships will be to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for building relationships with “like-minded” organizations for the purpose of building momentum and synergistic opportunities
  • Contact organizations and schools and develop ongoing beneficial relationships

  • Care for, pray with and develop other means of support activities

Position: SEO Specialist

Purpose: Provide SEO, Digital Marketing, and technical support for the MissionNext Website.

Key duties: The responsibilities of the SEO Specialist include:

  • Develop optimization strategies that increase MissionNext search engine results rankings.
  • Perform research and data mining to maximize MissionNext keywords on the MissionNext website and marketing materials.
  • Set measurable goals that demonstrate improvement in digital marketing efforts.
  • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO performance against goals using SEMRUSH, Google Analytics, MOZ and, other online sites and tools.
  • Efficiently communicate and collaborate with the communications team to align goals and manage SEO strategy.

Purpose:  Provide leadership across marketing technology systems supporting Marketing, Customer Relations, and CRM operations

Key Duties:  The marketing database specialist’s responsibilities include:

VP of IT Operations (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position:  VP of IT Operations
Location: USA

Purpose:  Give leadership and support to the IT and production website and overall operational environment at MissionNext.  Collaborate with CTO to ensure all aspects of the MissionNext computing environment are functional, secure, maintained, and supported.  The IT environment at MissionNext is particularly important as it is the foundation for connecting individual believers interested in serving in God’s kingdom and with our MissionNext partners and schools. Key Duties:  The responsibilities of the VP for IT Operations are to collaborate with CTO, CEO, and other MissionNext staff and team members to:

  • Ensure the website production and development web environments and infrastructure is available, regularly and securely backed up, and secure from unauthorized access or intrusion.
  • Ensure the desktop computing environment, specifically Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint online storage environment is maintained with effective processes to support MissionNext growth including, training, secure access, managed updates, and has appropriate permissions for MissionNext staff members, board members, and specified external users as appropriate.
  • Ensure the Software Application environment is supported.  Including software required for day-to-day business at MissionNext in finance, marketing, donation management, and CRM databases relative to security, and budgeting.
  • Ensure computing and operational processes and procedures are organized and effectively maintained.
  • Research and recommend cost-effective solutions as technology continues to change and evolve.

Virtual Store Manager (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Position:  Virtual Store Manager
Location: USA
Purpose: Launch and run an online store for MissionNext

Key duties: The store manager will work closely with members of the MissionNext team to:

  • Execute e-marketing strategies
  • Implement online store business plans
  • Process orders and be responsible for the sales of the e-store
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions

Grant Writer (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position: Grant Writer

Location: USA

Purpose: The Grant Writer will research and apply for external grants to fund special projects and operating costs to ensure financial stability and continued growth of MissionNext.

Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Grant Writer:

  • Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposals, and attending strategy meetings.
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
  • Enters and monitors tracking data.
  • Coordinates requirements with contributors and contributes proposal status information to review meetings.
  • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.
  • Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

Purpose: The Donor Development Specialist will generate external sources of donor revenue and gifting to ensure financial stability and continued growth of MissionNext.

Key duties: The responsibilities of the Donor Development Specialist will be to:

  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Generate a comprehensive list of donor prospects.
  • Design and implement a systematic approach for contacting that list of donor prospects.
  • Help establish content for presentations to potential donors.
