Chief Communications Officer (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position:  Chief Communications Officer
Location: USA
Purpose:  The Chief Communications Officer will help recruit and lead a team of experts in the area of public relations, communications (internal and external), and marketing.

Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Chief Communications Officer will be to:

  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Assist with setting Strategy and defining objectives for MissionNext Communications.
  • Provide oversight of all communications with partners, donors, candidates and the overall missions community.
  • Ensure consistency in brand management and increase brand awareness of MissionNext.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications in order to increase the number of candidates and agency partners.
  • Utilize social media and respond quickly to changing trends.
  • Increase participation in The Journey Deepens Retreats, Journey Deepens International, and Journey Deepens Ventures through targeted communications.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position 10-20 hours per week.

PHP-Laravel Developer, (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Position:  PHP/Laravel Developer
Location:  USA
Job Description:

Overview:   IT has become an increasingly important discipline in world missions. This is an existing, emerging and evolving need. Make an eternal impact with this position.

Purpose:  To provide PHP/Laravel development support for the MissionNext website and its subsites, backend module development, and matching.

Key Duties:  Learn, support, develop, record and maintain web-based PHP and Laravel applications for the MissionNext website and its subsites in support of the backend.  Includes MissionNext pathway modular development environment and matching capability for php websites (e.g. info.missionnext.org, partner.missionnext.org, and the custom MissionNext “plugin.”)  Maintain website functionality and operation, make recommendations for functional and performance improvements, and implement approved enhancements in cooperation with the Web Manager.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 5-10 hours per week on-going. (Initial on-ramp time may be greater.)

Logistics:

  • Meet with management and customer service players regularly to discuss current and future functionality
  • Monitor security and perform all necessary updates, PHP and Laravel specifically
  • Ensure that HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript integration is valid and consistent across applications and modules.
  • Manage MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Manage Linux hosting service. Familiarity with Apache, ngnix, Plesk, and SSL on self-managed server.

Purpose:  To provide overall web support for MissionNext websites and hosting environment.

Key Duties:  Provides technical expertise and support of MissionNext websites and Linux hosting environment.  Maintains website functionality and operation, makes recommendations for functional and performance improvements, and implements approved enhancements.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 10-15 hours per week on-going. (Initial on-ramp time may be greater.)

Office Space: There is no office space for this position; candidate will work from home using his/her own computer and high-speed internet. Day-to-day interactions will be conducted via email, telephone and video conferencing.

Logistics:

  • Meet with management regularly to discuss current and future functionality

  • Make all necessary updates to the ministry site, minimizing downtime
  • Update content to reflect current SEO trends and make or recommend adjustments to improve SEO

  • Familiarity with the functionality, monitoring, and support of administrative MissionNext WordPress subsites, and non-WordPress subdomains, such as api.*, ad.*, info.*, crm.*, partner.* and others as implemented is also within scope of the Web Manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience); master’s degree is a plus
  • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, is a plus

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in WordPress (WP), and WP compatible themes (such as Divi), plugins and overall website management and hosting.
  • Leadership and/or management experience is a plus
  • Strategic thinker with positive, can-do attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple websites
  • Strong working knowledge of all relevant coding languages (PHP, CSS, Javascript, HTML)
  • Excellent communicator, especially regarding abstract concepts

  • Responsible for the MissionNext website and Pathways; responsible for managing the MissionNext web presence, ensuring that the site is user-friendly and up-to-date at all times.
  • Works within the Technology and Program Development team(s) to expand our presence through the design and implementation of new web-based functionality that will positively impact our customers’ experience.
  • Requires knowledge in server management and online security, content management and solid coding skills.

Director of IT-Technology Pathway, (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Key Duties:  The responsibilities of the IT-Technology Director will be to:

  • Increase awareness of the MissionNext IT-Technology Pathway among our partners and other potential mission partners.
  • Use web-based technology to assist in identifying our Partners’ IT and Technology needs.
  • Provide creative, effective and forward-thinking leadership.
  • Use desktop tools for planning and organizing multiple activities.
  • Assist in creating, editing and managing print, broadcast, and online content for a customer-centric MissionNext IT-Technology Pathway.
  • Assist with the budgetary process.
  • Identify and develop opportunities and strategies to improve the IT-Technology visibility in the greater missions community while ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Provide thoughtful and experience-based leadership to the IT-Technology team in evaluation of trends and opportunities to improve the impact of IT-Technology in the greater missions community by connecting IT and Technology professionals with opportunities to serve both at home and abroad.
  • Develop, measure, and monitor performance, quality and revenue metrics of https://it-technology.missionnext.org and IT-Technology events and activities to gauge the impact of the IT-Technology Pathway.

  1. Monitor the https://it-technology.missionnext.org Pathway for content and marketing impact.
  2. Monitor physical marketing materials for content and oversee for accuracy. Maintenance might include writing, editing, and layout; working with audio, video and photographic images.
  3. Monitor process, performance and problem-tracking from various constituencies for ease of use, sustainability, customer issues, to and resolution of website issues for customer base.
  4. Develop and implement plans consistent with the IT-Technology Business Plan in cooperation with MissionNext Website Development team and MissionNext Marketing team.
  5. Compile and analyze research for the website; work with the MissionNext CTO and make improvements to website and marketing materials based on the research.
  6. Seminars to evaluate the user profile and experience
  7. Develop and implement strategies to accelerate growth, service and revenue potential.
  8. Assist in monitoring and reporting website application issues to ensure continuous improvement of critical website functionality.

Chief Program Officer (Part-time, Volunteer)

Position:  Chief Program Officer

Purpose: The Chief Program Officer will be responsible for developing strategies and operations of all MissionNext programs.

Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Chief Program Officer will be to:

  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop and execute strategies and operations for all MissionNext programs, such as:
    • The Journey Deepens Ventures
    • The Journey Deepens International
    • The Journey Deepens Mobile Mobilization Center
  • Create new effective programming in addition to enhancing existing programs
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of MissionNext programs to recruit additional Mission Agencies and Christian Schools, as well candidates for the harvest.
  • Increase MissionNext programs brand awareness across the mission community.

Virtual Store Manager (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Position:  Virtual Store Manager Location: USA Purpose: Launch and run an online store for MissionNext Key duties: The store manager will work closely with members of the MissionNext team to:

  • Execute e-marketing strategies
  • Implement online store business plans
  • Process orders and be responsible for the sales of the e-store
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions
  • Communicate, execute, and manage e-marketing plans in cooperation with other team members
  • Use different e-marketing channels such as social media (Facebook/Twitter) and search engine optimization
  • Manage store budget
  • Manage all store operational issues, including store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories, price changes, etc.
  • Manage speed of service results, control inventory that is used for service orders, and be responsible for the overall organization and appearance of the service

Donor Development Specialist (Part-time Volunteer)

Position:  Donor Development Specialist
Location: USA
Purpose: The Donor Development Specialist will generate external sources of donor revenue and gifting to ensure financial stability and continued growth of MissionNext.

Key duties: The responsibilities of the Donor Development Specialist will be to:

  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Generate a comprehensive list of donor prospects.
  • Design and implement a systematic approach for contacting that list of donor prospects.
  • Help establish content for presentations to potential donors.
  • Help motivate and educate Board and Team Members to participate in donor development.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential donors.
  • Provide estate planning options to donors.
  • Implement methods to sustain and increase donor giving.

Journey Guide (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Position:  Journey Guide
Location:  USA
Purpose:  Helping others to be successful as they seek to serve the Lord in missions.

Key Duties:

  1. Contact candidates who post profiles on the MissionNext website to encourage them to use their passion, gifts and abilities for the Kingdom.
  2. Help candidates to understand their strengths/weaknesses, gifts and abilities through various assessments.
  3. Review with the candidates their score on the Qualified Candidate Scale and encourage them with steps to improve their score if needed.
  4. Assist the candidates in navigating the MissionNext resources for optimum results in the matching process with the mission agency partners.
  5. Document all communication in designated MissionNext systems.
  6. Maintain complete integrity and biblical standards in all aspects of mentoring. Work with and report to the Journey Guides Director.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 5-10 hours per week.

Position:  Regional Director Location: USA Purpose:  The Regional Director will work to increase awareness of MissionNext within his/her region. Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Regional Director will be to:

Position:  Partner Support Representative (Part-time Volunteer)

Purpose: The Partner Support Representative will partner with mission agencies to maximize their benefit from their partnership with MissionNext.

Key duties: The responsibilities of the Partner Support Representative will be to:

  • Develop a personal relationship with 10-12 MissionNext partner agencies
  • Become familiar with the agencies web site, ministry and their history with MissionNext
  • Assist partner agencies with job postings and contacting potential candidates
  • Use a variety of software tools, for example Microsoft Office 365, virtual communications tools and customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Assist with planning and measuring effectiveness of MissionNext partner support
