The Founder's Blog

This week the Missions Leaders of North America are gathering together at the 2019 Missio Nexus conference under the topic, “Future Mission.” MissionNext is participating along with most of our partner organizations.

The current global situation is that for every 10 people,
  • One is a Christ-follower.
  • Two have heard the Gospel and either rejected it or fallen-away.
  • Three have not had a presentation of the Gospel, but live within linguistic, ethnic or cultural reach of the Christian message.
  • Four do not live within linguistic, ethnic or cultural distance of the Christian message, largely due to political barriers.
But these long standing gaps are changing with the coming of satellite internet that cannot always be blocked by governments hostile to freedom. Read these promises from Habakkuk 2.

“See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright—but the righteous person will live by faith.” [Hab. 2:4] The proud nations will be brought to naught. See all of Psalm 2.

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” [Hab. 2:14] This is the direction toward which all of history is moving.

“The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” [Hab. 2:20]

Any other gods that we create—anything that takes first place in our lives—has no breath. It is the living, loving, saving Lord that is in charge. We stand amazed!
