As SIM missionaries, God opened doors for Jeff and his wife, Fiona, to serve in rural and urban settings in Ecuador. Jeff carried out ministries in evangelism, discipleship, founding and managing an eye clinic, leadership training, founding a radio ministry, and developing structures to send Latin Americans as missionaries.

Jeff currently serves as a Deputy International Director for SIM. Along with geographic leadership responsibilities for SIM’s work in the Americas, he also provides global leadership for partnerships and mobilization, and for SIM’s sports, diaspora, and business-based ministries. He seeks to empower others in effective responses to the ever-changing ministry settings and realities in our world.

Horton Bruce Horton
Managing Director, H Group Partners, Inc. (CT)

During the turbulent 1960’s Bruce did not have a clear direction for his life. It took ten years, a patient Christian wife, and deep conversations with a friend who later became an overseas missionary before he opened his heart and mind to the Lord. For forty years, he and his wife Linda led corporate gypsy lives, tasting life in different regions of the US. Despite the moves, they were able to plug into vibrant churches with inspired leaders such as Kent Hughes, Gene Getz, Clive Calver and Stuart Briscoe. These experiences deepened their understanding of Biblical truths and strengthened their faith in the Lord. Along the way, the Lord made available positions of increasing responsibility for which he was not qualified, but through a growing relationship with the Lord, was able to grow into the responsibilities including head of a life insurance company.

Bruce and Linda have been married 45 years and have two married daughters and six grandchildren. Bruce says, "Serving as leader of the Business as Mission efforts with MissionNext was both a privilege and a joy, knowing that the Lord had prepared me for that role and now as a Board Member."

Kolb Eric Kolb
CTO and Co-founder, Elidah, Inc (CT)

Eric holds degrees in Biomedical and Mechanical engineering and has spent his career developing medical devices used in surgery and physical therapy. Eric spent the first half of his career with a Fortune 500 company, and the latter half with several startups. Recently Eric and his wife Gloria founded a company that is developing a wearable therapeutic technology that could benefit as many as 1 in 3 women.
Eric was blessed to have been raised in a Christian home where he accepted Christ at a young age. But the spark for learning and living the Christian life really lit while attending historic Park Street Church in downtown Boston. Now residing in Connecticut, he is currently a member of Walnut Hill Community Church.
Eric and Gloria have three school aged children who keep them very busy. With a heart for raising up strong, independent children, through the years Eric has been active in mentoring at-risk youth, coaching soccer, teaching robotics to high school students, and with Gloria, serving as licensed foster parents.

Malwitz Nelson Malwitz
Founder/Chief Innovation Officer, MissionNext (CT)

In 1998 Nelson founded the Finishers Project as a national ministry of WHCC. The initial launch was in the form of Finishers Forums. Soon after a web presence was created as a connecting tool. Finishers Project is now one ministry under the new corporate umbrella, MissionNext, along with MissionXplore, Mission:TEACH and BAMmatch. In his youth he attended church in Charlottesville, VA, where his mother was a non-ordained Minister to Children. She was then called to Tallahassee, FL to be in a similar role there until her retirement. His dad has served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher so Jeff has had great role models for church service. Jeff spent many years in the Chicago area, then moved to Kansas City where he currently resides. He is an avid bike rider (the non-motorized kind) and serves his current church in various roles, including Church President. Recently his church wanted to expand locations and agreed to merge with one that needed help. They are now successfully operating on a second campus, enabling them to reach more people. He trained for that role and then served with his wife in South America for three years rebuilding airplanes for Mission Aviation Fellowship. They currently live in Northwest Iowa where they manage a small airport and have their airplane maintenance business, which they would like to sell so they can return to overseas work.
